Haul Post

Hello my lovelies! Bit weird I'm writing another post so soon after posting my last, but I looked at the things I could include, and most of the things I've recently purchased have already been given a mention in an older posts this is gonna be a super small haul, much shorter than the haul post I wanted to do but hey ho.

Just before I start, I just want to say I'm not trying to show off at all because that's not what I do and it's wrong. I do occasional haul posts because some people (like myself) enjoy watching haul videos on YouTube or reading haul blogs as they like to see what's available. (I know everyone says this and it's a bit cheesy or whatever, but I think it's important to say.) This message goes for all my haul posts!

So, lets get started.

The first thing I bought is an MUA Matte Palette in Ever After. I picked this up because I really wanted to get a new matte palette after restarting my collection and this one looked really pretty. I've got into buying MUA products due to a woman named Louise (Sprinkle of Glitter) where she expressed her positive feelings towards this brand on her YouTube channel a little while ago.Since watching that video I like to buy them and try them out, some I really like but others aren't to great so I grabbed this gorgeous looking palette. The shades Fade, Penny, Chino and Truffle all look like they could be used as brow powders (I'm trying out eyebrow products a lot recently) so this also really gave an added bonus.
I haven't really used this palette yet, but just swiping my finger across the colour proves the pigmentation to be acceptable/decent. I'm really looking forward to using this, and I think because of the versatile colours I'll use it in many different eye looks.

Top Row: (Left - Right) Unwrap, Butter, Bare,Taffeta and Fade.
Bottom Row: (Left - Right) Penny, Chino Truffle, Fog and Smoke.

I then bought a Natural Collection CoverUp Cream Concealer, and mines in fair. I'll be quite honest, this was the first liquid concealer I found in my shade when I popped into my small local Boots, so I bought it.... I wasn't expecting much, but I've been using it everyday for about a week now and I actually really love it. It's coverage is good without being to heavy on your face and I like the consistency too. I would recommend you giving this a try if you're on the look our for a affordable drug store/high street liquid concealer!

I picked up a Dove purely pampering nourishing lotion, mine's in Almond Cream and Hibiscus  because I'm just always on the look out for a good light lotion. When I this one I loved the packaging, I loved the scent and it was on sale so why not?
They are out of stock online, but Click Here To View It Online At SuperDrug

The last thing I got is just the Simple kind to skin soothing facial toner as I've been loving my simple cleanser and I wanted a new toner. These two Simple products have actually been working very nicely together and I'm now considering whether to get the moisturizer from the same Simple range because I adore both of these products so so much!

Update: why I haven't been blogging as often.

Hello my lovelies. Some of you may be wondering why I haven't been blogging anywhere near as much as I used to. Lately, I've been taking major exams which means my main focus is on revising, which is what all my time is going into. Unfortunately, this means I have little time left to write blog posts here on my blog. I was trying to do 1 post per 2-3 days, and I feel like it's approaching a month since I last wrote - so that's the reason. This will probably continue for up to another 3 weeks, and then hopefully I can return my usual schedule for my blog posts and until then I will try to fit one in when it's possible!

On good note, I have a haul post (I think) coming up in the near future as I've slowly been buying products over time, so I think I'll just put them into one big haul? I'm not quite sure what I've already shown to you, so I'll have to re-read older posts and try to make it work.
Sneaky clue here; Drug Store/ High street brands!

I don't think I can wait much longer to do a proper post, so there may be one coming up sooner than you think, so stay tuned and keep checking back for my next post. Thanks so much for my 800 page views, I think I'm nearly 850 now which is cray cray.

Poppy

Products I rarely use/never use.

Hey my lovelies, I've got a feeling this post will be a long one. In this post, I will be talking about products  I've bought that I rarely use or that I have never used. This is only my opinion, so if you have a different one that is alright too. Some of the products I rarely use are simply down to colour/colours of them, so I'm not sure if they're fair to include as if I owned them in a different colour they might frequently be used so I'll try not to include things like this, or keep these situations to a minimal throughout this post.

Now, a little while ago I was watching a video on YouTube by a woman named Louise from Sprinkle of Glitter, some of you will be familiar with her(if you're not: she's lovely and has a great channel, go check her out). She seemed to really enjoy using products by a drugstore/ high street brand named MUA (Make Up Academy) so the next day I popped to my local SuperDrug and purchased some goodies. I actually really like most of the things I bought, I have some really beautiful lip sticks that I like to use and other bits and bobs. Some of the things I haven't yet got round to using (I'll include those too) and a couple of things I'm not best pleased with (which will also be included.)

(Left to Right) MUA Pressed Powder(shade 1), MUA Eyebrow pencil(Brunette), MUA Matte Perferct Foundation(Fair), MUA Matte Lipstick(Scarlet Siren), MUA Mascara(shade 5), Osiris Avisé conditioning hand and nail lotion, Osiris Avisé body lotion and Collection Blush(04 Trouble).

MUA Matte Lipstick in the shade Scarlet Siren: This lipstick is SUCH a beautiful red colour so I've been trying to persist with it, but I finally gave up and bought a Natural Collection dupe. The reason for this is, sadly I dislike the waxy consistency, and I find it uncomfortable to wear and difficult to apply.I own other Lipsticks from here (3 to be precise) which I am all very pleased with, each of these 3 are from the orginal collection. This is actually the only lipstick I own from their Matte collection, so maybe it's something to do with that....

MUA Pressed Powder in shade 1: I have NOT actually used this yet, even though I've had it for a while. The reason for this is I want to finish the powder I'm currently using first to avoid having two on the go. This was recommended to me by a friend so I quickly picked it up, I'm looking forward to using it. I can do a review on this in the future if anyone is interested.

MUA Matte Perfect Foundation in the shade Fair: I've used this couple of times, and if I'm honest it's OK for the price. It has got a difficult consistency, but nothing I can't work with. I don't always wear foundation, but when I do I tend to refer to my Olay foundation instead of this one. It's alright for a foundation, nothing spectacular and you get what you  paid for really, but I don't mind using this every now and again.

MUA Mascara in shade 5: I bought this when I was trying out lots of new Mascaras because I was unhappy with the one I was using. I've only used this once, and when I did I found it was quite clumpy and didn't look particularly natural, to avoid this I had to apply very carefully which is consequently rather time consuming, so this is not one to have for quick and easy appliances when you're out and about. I don't often find myself reaching for this, in fact I have barely used it and I'm not planning too. If you have spare time in the morning and you're looking for a affordable drug store/high street Mascara this one might be for you, however there are much better Mascaras out there but maybe for a slightly larger price tag.

MUA Eyebrow Pencil in shade Brunette: Lately I've been trying out lots of eyebrow pencils so firstly that's how this one came into my possession. This is actually no where near my shade, when I was looking at them in store they had ones that said they were for Blondes and ones that said they were for Brunettes, so being a Brunette myself I obviously went for the darker of the two shades. They also didn't have testers of either colours, so there was no particular way of knowing what each one would turn out like. This is far off my shade, but with a whole lot of blending it is do-able. It's the not best eyebrow pencil, and I don't use it.

End of the MUA Products!

Collection Blush in the shade 04 Trouble: I use this a little, but not to much. The product is really nice and easy to blend, I just find the particular shade is REALLY shimmery which is hard to wear without ending up looking very over the top. The colour it's self is lovely, I just think it has a little too much added shimmer. Overall, I like this blusher, I'm looking into getting more colours with less shimmer so it is easier to wear.

Osiris Avisé duo: The duo consists of a Conditioning hand & nail lotion and a mosturising body lotion. I've never heard of this brand before, so honestly I don't know if it's any good - it sounds French though? I rarely use this, not because I have any problems with the product themselves I just find the large bottles hard to transport and handle. I'm not sure where I bought these - sorry.

I obviously I couldn't include every product I have never used/rarely used because we would be here all day! However, if you enjoyed this post and would like to see another one on the same topic that mayne do-able, comment any requests down below. I'm Nearly at 800 Page Views! Thank so so much everyone! Hope you enjoyed this post, check back for more posts soon.

L'Occitane Goodies!

Hello my lovelies, today's post will be on my L'Occitane items, which I believe is the travel exclusive set. It comes with 6 different products, and so far I've began to use 2 of them, which I both really love. The set includes:
-Repairing Shampooing Shampoo with 5 essential oils and is 75ml. It says it's to repair dry and damaged hair. I haven't actually used this yet, but it smells delicious.

-Repairing Shampooing Conditioner with 5 essential oils and is 75ml. It also says the same thing: 'for dry and damaged hair.) I haven't used this one yet either, but it obviously looks like it would work great with the Shampoo.

-Shower Oil, this smells amazing! I'm also really excited to use this as I haven't already, and this is also 75ml.

-Ultra Rich Body Lotion, this also looks and smells good too, I haven't used this either. My gosh I have a lot of new things to try out lately, this one is also 75ml.

-Dry Skin Hand Cream, now I have used this and I absolutely love it to pieces, in fact since the L'Occitane goodies have been in my possession it's been the only hand cream I've used. I really recommend this product, it's just great. My tube of this is 10ml.

-Ultra Rich Lip Balm, I've also been using this a lot recently, it's actually now one of my lip balm favourites I think! I makes my lips appear more healthy, moisturises and softens. Mine is 2g. If you're on the hunt for a good lip balm I recommend taking a quick peek at this one.

Each and everyone of these beauties came packed neatly in a L'Occitane transparent wash bag which looked really nice and the wash bag is also handy. Here's a quick snap, I've re-arranged the goodies to look like how they originally came but unfortunately it's difficult to see the Hand Cream when it's set up in this layout, but it is also in this picture behind the Lip Balm if you were wondering.

Haul! Primarni, Boots and more.

Hey my lovelies This post will be a haul on what I have picked up over the last 2 days (where I was shopping on both.) Firstly, I would like to add by sharing this I am in no way trying to show off, as most of this haul is from Primark I thought it may be helpful as unfortunately Primark doesn't have a website.
I'll do clothing from Primark first:

I picked up this plain grey Halter Cami Top because I liked the simple style and thought it would be quite useful to start to stock up a little for Summer. It's actually quite baggy and floaty and has got a really soft material. I think this was £2.50.
.
Next I picked up this black dress which has a crochet pattern above the waist line and then a plain black skirt. I thought it was pretty and simple and very useful for the Summer time. I think these are also avaliable in white and coral, but I thought this would be more versatile. This was £5.

I then just picked up these pumps for pretty much no reason. I thought they would look nice for summer I guess, as they would go well with quite a lot of  outfits but now I'm not as sure on them. When I was trying them on, I was wearing very thick cosy socks, so they're also a little too big for me, but nothing I can't work with. These were £3.

Firstly, this is an awful picture and doesn't at all so the shape of this. It's a play suit that is covered with monochrome (I guess) Aztec print. It also has a cut out on the back which is super pretty. I thought again it would be nice for summer (re-occurring theme here.) This was £5.

Next it just the other bits I picked up in Primark:

This is the original photo which I've just attached because you can see the different items clearer.

This is the edited version so I can use it for my annotation
A = Eyebrow pencil, mine is in the shade Medium. I picked this up as I like to try a wide range of different eyebrow pencils as I'm trying to update myself to one that really suits me, I doubt this one will work but for £1 I decided to give it a try.

B= A floral hair accessory. Now, I'm really late on the trend with this, I've seen so many different wacky variations you can do with these little things, so I thought it was about time a gave it a go. For those of you who don't know the concept, it's basically a piece of flexible wire encased with floral (in my case) material which you can wrap around you head and make things like bows on the top of your head. Bad explanation alert! This was £1.50

C= This is a hairbrush, can't remember what it is called but it's really spikey. Okay that was a bad start. I decided to buy this as I've seen loads of different people using it so I looked in my local SuperDrug and my local Boots (both of which are very small) for a small one and neither had any so I was pretty happy when I managed to find in Primark. This was £1.50.

D=  A nail polish in a light lilac colour which I thought looked gorgeous so .... it somehow slipped into my basket and then I accidentally might have bought it. It was £1 although I'm not expecting great quality.

E= Fake Nails, never really tried fake nails before as I know it can be very damaging to my nails and I also find it hard to find ones that fit me as I happen to have the most tiny hands which means I have really small nails as well. I picked these up because they were only £1 and maybe I could try and play around with them.

G= A Pink Jasmine candle because Jasmine is like my all time favourite scent and this candle is pink so I was pretty much immediately sold. This was £1.

That's all I bought from Primark! Next I went to Boots and picked up:

I got a Natural Collection lip stick in Crimson which I think looks really nice, it's just a plain classic red, but it is very red, if that makes any sense. This was only £1.99 (from Boots)! I can't find the actual link to this exact product online, sorry.

The foundation brush isn't actually from Boots, I'm not sure where it's from as I've been popping into so many different shops lately, because of this I'm also not sure of the price. It's really soft though, if that helps (which it doesn't.)

The Minx body spray was bought for my little sister as she likes body sprays and the title of this one reminded me off her, it also smells really nice. It was on sale in SuperDrug, can't remember the exact price but I think it was on sale or on some kind of offer.

The Canister is from a local store, not even sure why I bought this I just thought I could make it look nice in my bed room maybe holding something like nail varnishes? I really haven't thought this through so now I'm stuck with a Canister on my desk making me feel guilty. Great.

I got the £50 note rubber for no reason, I don't even need any more rubbers if I'm honest I just thought it looked cool. Yes, I do actually spend money on stuff like this. I think this was £1 from a local store.

Finally I bought I small green candle holder to hold my Yankee Candles as it looked like the perfect size (and it is.) It was something silly like 50p also from a local shop.

I will do a post on my L'Occitane goodies! I promise! I'm trying to find some time where I could squeeze writing blog in, but it will be coming really soon, so keep checking back for that. Hope you've enjoyed this blog post, literally has taken me forever to write all this out and do the photography.
Love,
Poppy

Whats In My Bag!

Hello my lovelies! This will just be a quick What's In My Bag post as I'm sure you've seen many times before, how unoriginal of me! I've chosen to post this because if you're nosy like me, you might enjoy reading about what other people find useful to carry around. This is just what I'm currently carrying in my hand bag as well as added makeup items I know I'll need during the day (if I'm wearing a specific lipstick colour, I will add that colour in particular.) I will do an updated version in the future if you guys like it, if I've missed something sorry, that natural light is fading so I didn't have much time to set up the photo or check the items, they're just what I pulled out of my bag.

This actually has the most appalling lighting...opps! Well, this is what's in my bag, here are all the items and their justifications.

-Purse, I don't really have to justify this one, it's just the standard purse, mine is quite large and has a pretty floral print. In case anyone is wondering, my purse is from Cath Kidston. I'm afraid I can't find the link to this exact purse, but Click Here To View The Cath Kidston Site .

-Phone, I don't think I have to justify this either. It's just a iPhone 4 in white, yeah that's about it. How boring.

-Head Phones, so I can play music from my phone in public without being disruptive. The ones pictured above have cute little duckies on them, I love decorated head phones/ear buds (call them whatever you please) as they're just less boring. I also have these with pink Lego blocks and  pop art Union Jack hearts. Don't actually know where these are from, sozzles.

-Chewing Gum, normally I have mint so it freshens my breath but right now I just have a strawberry flavour, which is alright. I'm not one of those people that refuse to chew all gum except one type, I'll just settle for whatever so the particular gum I have varies.

- Hand Sanitizer, just if I put my hand in something ewwy or if I'm on public transport or something along those lines. The one pictured above is from The Body Shop and is in the flavour Pink Grapefruit (I love this one so so much.) I've done a blog post on this one before, Click Here To View That Previous Blog Post. Hand santizers are important and essential for me (I know it's not that way for everyone) so I'm not too fussed about what brand or flavour. Click Here To View This Hand Santizer At The Body Shop Online.

- Impulse, always good too smell nice, so I normally carry a body spray which tends to be an impulse (not always this scent.) This one is in the scent Very Very Pink which is meant to smell like Orange & White Wood, but if I'm honest it just smells amazingly gorgeous, I really like this scent and recommend you give it a sniff next time you spot it on the shelves. Click Here To View The Impulse Featured.

- Lip Balms, here I have the Nivea Soft Rose' Lip Balm which smells really good and is nice on the lips, apart it's just your average lip balm. Can't find the link to this exact one, but I'm think it's pretty easy to find in store. The other lip balm photographed above is a BabyLips in Pink Punch, it has a pink tint, is really good for your lips and I like it bunches. I've actually done a review on this along with the other BabyLips I own, Click Here To See My Review On BabyLips.
Click Here To View The Product Online.

-Hair Bobble, I have hair on my head(well done Poppy.) No seriously, I have hair that can sometimes become a little unruley so it's really handy to have one of these floating around my bag.

-Pocket Mirror, these are just really handy to check up on makeup or hair etc. I'm not sure where the one photographed is from, but it is pretty standard.

I obviously carry other necessities like keys, but I didn't feel the need to photograph them. Hope you enjoyed this post, they'll be more coming soon so keep checking back. I also think I'll soon be doing a post on some L'occitane items, stay tuned for that. If I'm posting less it's because I am currently experiencing strong back pain and I don't know what's caused it.
Love,
Poppy

Review: Simple Kind To Skin Purifying Cleansing Lotion.

Hello my lovelies! This is a review on the Simple Kind To Skin Purifying Cleansing Lotion, and for those of you who don't know, it is in simpler a cleanser. I bought this in Boots (I think) a little while ago, so I haven't actually been using it as long as other products I review, but this has already made a big impression on me.

When you apply this, it looks a bit like the bog standard average moisturisers, you know the kind you can pick up anywhere, but it turns out to be far from this. When I've applied, I feel refreshed and pleased as I feel like this is giving my skin a boost. It removes make-up and sooths/softens my skin. Although I haven't had it long, I already love this product bunches, and I know this will become a permanent staple in my facial care routine. In fact, I like so much that today I even went out to buy the Simple kind to skin soothing facial toner as I now have such high hopes for this brand, and also paired together it may boost the results. I also have really sensitive skin, so I either hate things like this or I love them, and I'm so glad I discovered this one! I also use the Simple kind to skin cleansing facial wipes for when I'm too lazy to use cleanser (which probably won't be very often now I own the cleanser, it's just so beneficial for my skin.)
